Thai Iced Tea (Cha Yen)

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp Thai black tea
  • 4 cups hot boiling water
  • 140 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 110 g evaporated milk
  • 4 cup ice

Method
 

  1. Add the tea leaves and boiling water into a jug. Steep the tea for 5 minutes.
  2. If you are using a tea sock or have a strainer inside your jug, remove it from the tea. Alternatively, strain the tea into another jug.
  3. Add in the condensed milk and evaporated milk. Mix well.
  4. Optional: Leave your jug of Thai tea on your kitchen counter, letting it cool down to about room temperature. Then, chill it in the fridge for about 2 hours or up to 2 days.
  5. Fill a glass with ice and pour in the tea.
  6. Add in a straw and enjoy immediately!

Want stronger tea?  Steep your tea for a little longer (about 10 minutes) for a stronger tea.
Extra creamy tea  After pouring your Thai tea into a cup, add an extra drizzle of evaporated milk over the top of the cup for an extra creamy drink!
