This smoothie tastes exactly like a blueberry cheesecake, and you don’t need any cream cheese!

I made this smoothie with the intention of making a regular blueberry smoothie. However, I realised that I ran out of milk. So, I decided to add some evaporated milk and condensed milk instead. When I tasted my smoothie, it reminded me of a blueberry cheesecake! So here you go, a blueberry cheesecake smoothie with no cream cheese!
Why I love this recipe
Easy to make This blueberry cheesecake smoothie is so easy to make, and it takes less than 5 minutes! All you need to do is put all the ingredients into a blender, and you’ll have your smoothie!
Grab-n-go breakfast My baby has just started teething, and some mornings, she needs a few extra cuddles. For mornings like these, where I don’t have too much time to eat breakfast, I love to make this recipe. Being a smoothie, I am able to drink it through a straw, while looking after her. It is so much easier than having to eat some overnight oats with a spoon or trying to eat a piece of toast and carrying a baby at the same time.

No cream cheese It is amazing how this blueberry cheesecake smoothie tastes exactly like a blueberry cheesecake, even though it does not have any cream cheese in it! This makes this drink healthier, and a lot easier to prepare!
Delicious This blueberry cheesecake smoothie is absolutely delicious! Try it, and let me know what you think in the comments below!
What you will need
Blueberries You can either use fresh or frozen blueberries in this recipe. I like using frozen blueberries, as it is not only cheaper, but also makes my smoothie extra cold.

Greek yogurt This gives your smoothie a tangy flavour, and also gives it a thick and creamy texture. To keep this recipe healthy, I used unsweetened low-fat plain Greek yogurt. However, you may use sweetened and or full cream Greek yogurt. You may also swap this out for a plant-based yogurt.
Evaporated milk This will slightly thin the smoothie down, making it easier to drink. Also, when mixed together with the blueberries and yogurt, the evaporated milk gives this smoothie a flavour that resembles a blueberry cheesecake.
Sweetened condensed milk This acts as a sweetener, and also enhances the ‘cheesecake’ flavour.
How to make this blueberry cheesecake smoothie?

Place all the ingredients into a blender.
Turn blender on and blend for 1 minute or until creamy and smooth. If your smoothie is too thick, add a bit more evaporated milk.
Serve immediately.
Serving tip
As this smoothie has a thick consistency, this recipe will also work well when served as a smoothie bowl. This is a great alternative if you have more time in the morning and can slowly enjoy your breakfast. Top your smoothie bowl with some fresh or frozen blueberries, coconut shavings, or even crumble some Digestive biscuits (to make it taste even more like a blueberry cheesecake!).
Can I make this smoothie ahead of time?
This recipe makes one smoothie or two kid-size smoothies. If you would like to make this smoothie ahead of time, pour each serving into a zip-lock bag and freeze.
When you would like to enjoy your smoothie, take it of the freezer and let it ‘defrost’ in room temperature for about 1 hour before transferring it into a glass and enjoying it.
How can I make this smoothie vegan?
You can swap out the yogurt, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk to make this blueberry cheesecake smoothie vegan and dairy-free.
Replace the Greek yogurt with any plain or vanilla plant-based yoghurt.
For the condensed milk, Nestle has a plant based condensed milk alternative, but you can use any other plant based condensed milk too.

Lastly, you can either use a store-bought plant based evaporated milk, or make your own homemade vegan evaporated milk.
Can I make this blueberry smoothie with milk?
Of course you can! The best thing about smoothie recipes is that they are very flexible, and you can literally add whatever you like to it.
You may replace the evaporated milk and condensed milk with milk. However, this will mean that your smoothie will taste like a regular blueberry smoothie, and will not taste like a blueberry smoothie anymore.
Alternatively, if you prefer a thinner smoothie, you can either replace the yogurt with milk.
Is this blueberry cheesecake smoothie healthy?
Most of the ingredients make this drink healthy. However, there is one ingredient that makes this smoothie less healthy – sweetened condensed milk. Although it is high in sugar, it still contains some protein, fat, and a range of vitamins and minerals.
Having said that, 1 teaspoon of sweetened condensed milk and 1 teaspoon of honey both have the same number of calories – 21 calories.
As we are not using 2 teaspoons of condensed milk in this smoothie, I’d say it is healthy.
